My layout...

It was hard to find this challenge thread....
I posted the link from the blog to my gallery
Didn't know where to post it until I really dug through the forum..... Maybe it would have helped if it was called Blog Challenges?

Great layout Debbie!!!! Thanks for playing along and hopefully next month when we do this again we can get it to go much smoother! Like Michelle said this was the first time we really linked FB and the Blog along with one of our major crops! Definitely have a few 'kinks' to work out but so glad for the opportunity to spread the news about how much fun it is here at SH!

Did another layout today and lots of fun making a complete mess of my scrap room! Flipped the sketch because I needed to cover the bottom part of the scalloped paper when I made a boo boo cutting it! So, I did my own challenge too...by making myself use the color purple!! LOL!
Don't know if it shows up in the photo but I heat embossed the oval frame, which I cut out of chipboard and covered with cardstock. (added detail to show the embossing) Pulled out assorted flowers and cut some out of the pp. This was easier than I thought it would be once I just DID it and stopped obsessing!

OH I luv luv luv this flip, I especially like the frame work and flowers. You rocked this challege. WTG!!

Thanks Lee. I used my CM cutting system and chipboard, like you did! It worked much better than I thought it would...after I messed up 2 of them! LOL!

Pics are of DS's wedding ring. He had that Scripture verse engraved on the inside of his ring. I took the pic of his Bible opened up to that Bible verse and the ones in the crease of the Bible show a shadow of a heart!!!

How neat is this!!!!!!

This is my challenge lo from this sketch. I have 2 flowers (layered) and the top flower is yellow to match DH's cap. The black circles down the center of the strip are rub-ons.

You always do such thoughtful pages, Marcia! Love the photos you took of the rings on the Bible page, and how you captured that heart shaped shadow! Beautiful!!

April, I also love the button and hand stitching along the right hand side....lots to see!

Thanks..that button isn't actually a button...lol What I envisioned for that corner didn't work out. I had thought to weave ribbon(instead of the sewing) and then have it tied at a bow where you see the "ribbon"...that didn't work as I didn't know how to get my holes big enough for the ribbon so instead I sewed there but it still needed that something at the end so I put down a bunch of clear drying glue and coiled the rest of the embroidery string to make a flower of some sort....lol

Wow, that still looks like a button to me at second glance! LOL! It looks so great with the embroidery string weaving and coiled at the end. Your make-do, turned out fabulous!

Karen great heat embossing!!! Looks good!
