We're nearing the halfway point of the Going Green crop at Scrapbook Heaven, and I'm here today to share an oldie but goodie: the pop top can upcycle.

Here's the how to:
Image
I like these mini fruit cup ones, but you could use a larger size. (Stay away from tuna and pet food).

Image
I purchased this opener at Target a few years back for around $5.

Image
I recommend hand washing to avoid rusting and pitting in the dishwasher (like the one above--I got lazy!)

Image
You can get fancy here and layer punched border strips or piece different scraps together for this.

Image
By trimming off the top, the circle will slip right under the pop top of the can.

Image
Perfect for small candies, money, small crafty supplies, jewelry...

Image
Embellish your can as desired.

Challenges are due April 2nd at midnight

Hmmm, my can opener doesn't open from the outside...but my friends with Pampered Chef openers might take pity on me!! Yikes...this is getting really bad when I beg for trash from my friends just to upcycle!

Hope you can get your hands on the PC opener. I did make my very first one with my regular kitchen opener. It just made for a messy bottom on the can.

I don't have an opener that will open one of those... my opener is the kind that requires a rim.

oh, wow!! Those are so cool!!! I might just have to go out and buy some little cans of fruit or something. Those would make great little favors at a ladies party that I have coming up. Oh, I can't wait to work on these!

I looked at Target for the safety openers last night but they didn't have any. Today, I'll let my fingers do the walking! I just HAVE to make these!!

I can't begin to tell you how excited I am. I love, love, love this can. It has a verse on it- "Greet one another with a holy kiss. Romans 16:16" and I'm going to fill it with hugs and kisses. This is soooo cool. Thanks, Michelle!!!
