Hello!
My name is Susan and I am VERY happy to be back here at Scrapbook
Heaven as DT Coordinator! I am 30-something! I have been married to my
high school sweetheart for 11 years, and we have 2 beautiful little
girls. Emilee, my nine year old, is all about fashion and glitz, while
Sara, my eight year old, just wants comfort. We live in Moncton, New
Brunswick, Canada. I am currently working as a pediatric Registered
Nurse, at our local hospital, but will be starting a fulltime job in
the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in March of this year.
I have
been scrapbooking for over 6 years. I was initially inspired by my
older sister. Scrapping to me is a stress reliever, throughout the day,
as well and a source of real enjoyment and fulfillment. I am inspired
so much by a variety of challenges, colors, patterns, photos, etc, and
these inspirations cause me to create many different types of pages. I
have been published a number of times and love to share my work with
everyone!
My layouts most all start with a cardstock base. I
then begin layering pattern papers, and clustering embellishments. Most
times, my photos are off centered, as are the other elements. At times,
when I feel a little more straight lined, all the elements will be more
centered and even on the page. Most all my layouts have a touch of my
hand drawn doodling, the page just doesn't look complete without it. And
since
Christmas (when dh generously gave me a new sewing machine), most all
my layouts have some stitching. I have inking on ALL (yes ALL) of my
layouts, and some form of distressing as well.
I'm excited to be here at Scrapbook Heaven and hope to be inspired by each one of you!

I'm Holly, a SAHM (of two) from KY.I have been married to a wonderful man for almost 12 years and we live on a 17 acre wooded farm! I started scrapping almost 13 years ago while pregnant with my first child. During that sticker sneeze era, I lost interest and left the craft for a few years only to return to a major addicted scrapping state! I have a 12’ x 16’ scrappy studio (building) where I spend most every day-all day long! The studio is set up for sewing, drawing, soap making and of course scrapbooking. An artist at heart, I have been influenced my entire life by my art teacher mother and spend everyday creating something! Until I discovered scrapbooking, I was a pastel and graphite pencil artist. I competed yearly in art shows and have received recognition in every contest I’ve entered. I am also an abstract furniture artist, designing pieces of art from old discarded furniture. Scrapbooking continues to be my main focus and I cherish the opportunity to leave a legacy for my kids and future generations. I am honored to be a part of SH and can’t wait to share thoughts, ideas, techniques, and friendships.  CARLA Event Coordinator-Staff  Hi everyone! I am Carla, living in a small town in Newfoundland, Canada with my husband and our 4 wonderful children! I homeschool all of my children; they range in age between 12 and 17 yrs old. Dh runs a recording studio from our home. As a family, we love spending time together! I started scrapbooking in 2004 after being encouraged by my older sister. My style is fairly simple, I think. I like clean lines, but I also like a bit of doodling and the collage-y look. My inspiration comes mostly from online galleries and from magazines. little bit of Lee – UMMM! I’m a scrapbooker! And because of that, my DH
of 113 yrs only gets a little piece of Lee. We have one son who is
delightful only on the days of the week that have an “E” in them! I
have a passion for making messes! When I’m not chatting on-line you can
find me drinking a ton of coffee with my girlfriends. I’ve lived and
worked in the same neighborhood & have had the same profession of
childcare for the past 20 years (11 of those years in my own home). I
credit my sanity to the wonderful gals at Scrapbook Heaven. Thank you
for that! I do love to create, hence my signature createalways, but
it’s also an acronym for my maiden name. You can find me here at

As they would say in the south....My name is Juliet, but my friends
call me Jules. I'm the mom of 8 great kiddos (yes, they are all mine)
and best friends with one of the most wonderful men on the face of this
earth for the last 25 years...my hubby, Vince! Out of those 8 kids only
3 are left at home and it's almost getting too quiet! HA! We have lived
in Mississippi for the last 10 years so we call it 'home'. I
started scrapping about 10 years ago when a great friend invited me to
a Creative Memories party....well, my style has CHANGED big time since
those days, but that day I fell in love with the art of scrapbooking!
My favorite subject is my wonderful hubby and then the family, but the
everyday, normal stuff....the 'holidays and birthdays' are fun, but to
me the most rewarding things to scrap is the everyday....the things we
wouldn't remember if we didn't capture those moments. When I'm not scrapping or stamping, I am home teaching my kiddos. I have home educated for over 14 years now. Other than that you can find me hanging out with middle school aged kids and the huge choir that they belong to....this year we are 200 strong. Or maybe hanging out at a Weight Watcher meeting, because they pay me and that is how I can buy the scrapping supplies! I'm honored to be a part of the Scrapbook Heaven Design Team and can't wait to be inspired and hopefully bring a little inspiration! APRIL Design Team  Hi! My name is April Hummert and I live in Texas. I am a former family law attorney turned domestic diva, happy housewife to my hubby of ten years, Scott, and full time stay at home mommy dearest to my 3-yr-old, Skylar. I have been scrapbooking for almost my whole life. As a child, I always carried around a spiral notebook, scissors, and a glue stick. I constantly collected everything from stickers and postcards to napkins and swizzle sticks to put in my first 'scrapbooks'. My scrapbooking style is definitely 'more is more'. I love for my pages to have layer upon layer upon layer and I really pile on the embellies! I will use anything in my scrapbooking - everything from vintage fabric and lace, old books, board games, Christmas ornaments, jewelry, broken bits of anything...you name it, I'll scrap with it! I say 'Junque it up!' I am so thrilled to be a part of this FABULOUS design team and this wonderful online community. CHAR Card Designer  Hi There ! My name is Charlene (Char for short). I live in a hot but beautiful town in Northern California called Redding. By day I'm a Human Resources Manager and also an Accounting Manager, and by night....a scrapping addict!! (Shhh don't tell anyone :D . I have two awesome kids, ages 26 and 27, and two adorable grandkids ages 1 and 3. I am so happy to join this awesome group!! HAYDEE Design Team  I'm really excited to be a part of Scrapbook Heaven where I've made so many friends! I've been scrap-booking for about 5 years and have had both feet in every since! I love trying new techniques and exploring fun ways to create art. I am hooked on Tim Holtz products and I am obsessed with mixing different paper lines to create what feels like "all new paper". I've recently been asked to teach classes at a couple of local scrapbook stores and am really excited about that. My husband and I have been friends since we were 10 and will be celebrating our 25 year anniversary in July. We have 2 grown children that we are very close to. We live in Florida in a small quiet subdivision with great neighbors and our church is about a mile away. My family and faith is the center of my life. Everything else revolves around that. I work full time and have been in the dental field for 25 years. Oh and I almost forgot to mention I have 2 little girls (my chihuahuas) that are very much a part of my family. I'm Michelle and I'm a work at home mom to three amazing boys, and wife to one fantastic man of 12 years (who also happens to be my high school sweetheart!). We have settled in the same New England town in which we both grew up. In between loads of laundry, cooking meals, and helping with homework, I run my own custom scrapbook and invitation business. I also teach craft classes from my home studio. I have been crafty since my childhood days--I come from a line of crafty people, so I guess it's in my blood! But I really found my crafting niche in this *little* hobby we call scrapbooking. This {sometimes termed} obsession all started with a home party that my sister pressured me into attending. Well, that sister always seems to know what's best for me because I was hooked! That was nearly 13 years ago. Trends have come and gone in those years, and my style has certainly changed, but one thing remains the same: I am passionate about this art form because it enables me to live in the moment, document our stories, and express myself creatively. Scrapbooking also allows me to grow as an artist, to constantly learn new techniques and use new products and tools (like the fabulous ones in the Scrapbook Heaven store). Through scrapbooking, I have made some wonderful friends, both in real life and online. I am grateful to forums like Scrapbook Heaven for creating a gathering place for us crafty people to meet, chat, and share inspiration. So grab a cuppa joe and a tasty morsel, pull up a comfy seat, and hit the message boards for some laughs, maybe a few tears, and definitely loads of inspiration. I have been a pastor's wife for 12 years now, and am also a stay at home/homeschooling mom of 5 ages 11,10,8,7,7 (yep, twins). I started scrapping about 11 years ago, but got bored quickly with stickers and flat layouts. Then about 3 years ago I was reintroduced to scrapbooking and its amazing online world by my Best Friend and scrap buddy. Now I am hooked! When I scrap I love to get messy, I am not finished with a layout unless I have painted, inked, sewed or stickled something! I thrive on challenges, and can't get enough of them. I love to be pushed, stretched and really grow from a challenge. We live on a farm, so lots my inspiration comes from my kids interacting with 4 legged creatures, and the amazing nature. I also garden, blog and read avidly. If I have any free time left over {insert laugh here}..... I love to sew, quilt and make Jewelry. I am addicted to Pepsi and chocolate, and they are a must for scrapping, right alongside my stickles and edge distresser! |
